Website Purchase Agreement
Effective date: 7 September 2026
This agreement is between Jack Peacock, trading as WebbedWebSales / Webbed (“Webbed”, “we”, “us”), and the customer named in the final proposal (“Client”, “you”). It is designed for clients purchasing wholly for their business.
1. Preview before any purchase
Webbed may prepare and show a private website preview. The Client is under no obligation to purchase after viewing it. A contract is formed only when the Client confirms in writing that they wish to proceed and Webbed accepts that instruction or issues the final invoice/proposal.
2. Scope and price
The final written proposal and invoice state the agreed pages, functionality, price, any extras and target timing. They override generic website descriptions if there is a difference. Prices may be negotiated. Work outside the agreed scope, including future changes, additions or repairs after the included period, is charged separately only after the Client agrees the fee.
3. Payment
Payment is due only after the Client has previewed the website and agreed to buy it. Unless the final invoice says otherwise, full payment is required before publication and final handover. Payment may be made through a Stripe payment link or invoice. Webbed is not required to transfer final files, access or ownership until cleared payment is received.
4. Client responsibilities
The Client must provide accurate content, images, branding, access and decisions needed for the project, and must have permission to use all material supplied. Delays in providing these may affect timescales. The Client remains responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of their website content, services, privacy notices and business claims.
5. Ownership and handover
Once full payment has cleared and handover is completed, the Client owns the completed bespoke website files and the agreed project deliverables in full. Where possible, the domain, hosting account, website administration logins and third-party accounts will be held in the Client’s name. Third-party software, fonts, stock images, plugins, APIs and services remain subject to their own licences, fees and terms. Webbed retains ownership of its pre-existing tools, methods and reusable know-how.
6. Handover completion
Handover is complete when the website has been supplied or deployed to the Client’s domain/hosting, relevant credentials and files have been provided, and the Client has had a reasonable opportunity to check them. From handover, the Client is responsible for hosting, domain renewals, security, backups, updates and use of the website unless a separate written support arrangement says otherwise.
7. Faults, changes and refunds
Because the Client receives ownership of a bespoke website after purchase, no refund is offered for a change of mind once the purchase has been made. If the Client reports a genuine fault within 14 days of handover that means the website does not substantially match the agreed scope, Webbed will fix it free of charge within a reasonable time. Faults reported after 14 days, and all future changes, are chargeable at a fee agreed in advance. This does not remove any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
8. No guaranteed results
Webbed will use reasonable skill and care, but cannot guarantee search-engine rankings, visitor numbers, sales, enquiries, uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device or third-party service performance.
9. Liability
Nothing in this agreement limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Subject to that, Webbed’s total liability relating to the project will not exceed the amount paid by the Client for that project. Webbed is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, third-party failures or Client-provided content.
10. Consumer clients
This standard agreement is intended for business clients. If you are buying mainly for personal use rather than your business, contact Webbed before paying because different consumer cancellation and statutory rights may apply.
11. Law and agreement
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. A written acceptance by email, signed copy, or payment of the final invoice after receipt of this agreement confirms acceptance. This agreement, the final proposal and invoice form the whole agreement for the project.
